That is slick. It'll be hard to sale that, I would get attached to it. Unless I could trade it for an acre of land someday.:bear_w00t:

That is one big silver tiger. That is the largest silver coin that I have seen.

That will be like a treasure after a couple thousand years. I don't know if the plastic capsule will last that long, LOL.

Ahhh...the infamous APMEX white bubble envelope :5_1_120:

I just recieved an order with one packed a little too full and ended up with some cracked capsules on 2 oz Tigers

I imagine they shipped that chunker in its own bag....great coin to pass down for generations to come....NICE SCORE!!!!

I have a couple 1kg Kooks and I love them. Something about such a large, and beautiful, chunk of PM makes me smile. That tiger is cool...

Oh, only silver (yawn) It would have been more interesting if you had bot a gold tiger kilo-coin. Just kidding of course (or maybe just jealous). I am not all that wild about the huge coins though, truth be told; harder to stack. Usually the premiums are close to or the same as for 1 oz coins, and I'd rather have 28-29 1 oz coins over 1 32 oz one. This is for the nice high end premium coins anyway, since the "pretty factor" is part of the premium, so I would apply the pretty factor only 1x per coin, so I would prefer more coins for the money (more pretty!)

But if you're going for kilos, I have to say that I am a fan of the APMEX silver kilobars. They have this ridge around the top and an indent on the bottom so they fit together like legos. I want to get more to see how high I can stack them!

Re: Wow - Kilo Tiger!

Sexy. My only complaint is the huge premiums they want for the kilo coins...most I've seen are in the region of 200+% of spot.

I saw a 1kg Libertad at a recent show that I loved, but the dealer wanted $1400 for it. :banghead:

gainesville coins has the kilo tiger for $656 which comes out $1.50 over spot. http://www.gainesvillecoins.com/prod...fNovember.aspx

Jekyll7 10-20-2009 10:24 PM

Re: Wow - Kilo Tiger!

Good to know xinkid, that's quite an acceptable premium. I can say with fair certainty I couldn't even get Maples or Eagles locally at a buck fifty over.

The premiums on the 10 kilogram silver coins are silly. The price you listed comes out to $22.56/ounce.

Of course, the coin is 8.7" in diameter and almost 1.3" thick. They're probably NOT easy to make. The dies must be expensive too.

For the 2008 (series II) 10 kilo mouse coin, the total mintage was only 35 coins.

Series II lunar mintages are here:

My 2009 silver kilo Ox just arrived from Gainesville Coins.

I agree with you, that is one GIGANTIC coin! The pictures don't do it justice.

BTW goldwish, I'm blaming you and your pictures for putting the idea in my head (and the dent in my wallet)...
